I have a few critical questions on the relevance of elearning in the Indian Distance Education Scenario. How relevant is elearning for Indian Distance Education Students? My assessment is that only about 5% of the Distance Education students are really interested in learning, the majority being interested only in getting a certificate or a Degree for job or job related purposes. An elearning portal may be useful for the students as a content repository. As a reference which is available 24x7. However, will it be used for active learning? Can we go beyond the portal being just a repository to actual elearning? Can we price this offering? I am sure these are relevant questions for many Distance Education Universities in India.

The Learning Center meets start from 8th, Monday. The first one is at New Delhi. I need to be giving a presentation on EduNxt. Yes, TeL is now EduNxt. People have a lot of expectations on this initiative. And rightly so.
